Families and loved ones

When a family member struggles with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), it can affect everyone in the household.

If you’ve found your way here, you’re likely struggling with the overwhelming emotions and behaviours of your loved one, unsure how to offer support while setting appropriate boundaries.

You might feel like you’re on edge, trying to avoid any action or conversation that might upset your loved one. You may spend lots of time worrying about their ability to cope with everyday life and to keep themselves safe. This uncertainty and emotional turbulence can lead to a sense of powerlessness, leaving you questioning whether you’re doing enough or handling things the right way. You may carry the weight of past decisions or actions, wondering if it would be different if you had done things in another way.
