Group Therapy
DBT Skills Group

A DBT-based skills learning group with rolling admission every 6 weeks. To go through all 4 units once the program is 24-weeks in length. If you are able to, we suggest going through each of these units twice, for a total of 48-weeks of skills learning. The units are as follows:

Mindfulness: cultivating awareness and connection in the here and now.

Distress tolerance: learning how to handle the crisis moments.

Emotional Regulation: recognizing, understanding, and managing your feelings and the behaviours related to them.

Interpersonal effectiveness: building a stronger, healthier relationship with yourself and others.

An individual assessment and orientation session will be completed prior to enrollment in order to determine clinical suitability > participation in concurrent individual therapy may be recommended
-
Each unit will need at least 5 people to run, up to a maximum of 8 participants.

2 facilitators, licensed mental health professionals with lived experience.
Carers Group
-
An on-going skills learning and support group for loved ones of those struggling with emotional dysregulation.

Understanding relational dynamics related to BPD, trauma, or emotional dysregulation.

Psychoeducation on how to best support your loved one while also caring for yourself.
-
Abridged DBT skills for carers to better regulate their own emotional and behavioural responses with their loved one.

Discussing difficult situations and how to move forward in a way that is safe for everyone involved.

Each unit will need at least 5 people to run, up to a maximum of 8 participants.

2 facilitators, licensed mental health professional with lived experience and a trained peer supporter.
Community Group

The Community Writers’ Guild hosted by Sick Stories
-
The Community Writers’ Guild uses expressive writing to engage and support community members in relational connection and emotional expression through a six-week series. Each session, eight participants between 18-70 will explore different - and increasingly challenging - emotions through writing exercises led by Sophie Lyons (Sick Stories), interspersed with community connection and reflection through guided questions and mindful practices, facilitated by Camille Alizadeh, M.Psy (Lived Collective).

The series will be hosted virtually for five weeks, meeting in-person for the sixth week.
